What a day

Ok so it wasn't anything crazy or insanely exciting, but it was busy and fun!

Jason left for Georgia at 5:30 this morning for a business trip! Pretty darn exciting, but hello...I miss him like crazy! He's doing an audit in Marietta and staying at a nice hotel in Atlanta. He'll be back late Friday night and I already can't wait! I'm just so proud of him - having this big job in accounting and already being sent out on business trips. Hopefully there won't be too many of them though. I was hoping he wouldn't have to travel too much with this job. In a few weeks he'll be in Wenatchee for a week! EEEK. =)

Anyway, 9:30am Kristie had an appointment for a flu shot in Everett. So we headed over there and got that taken care of. Next stop was the Snohomish County Campus to sign off on a few papers to get our Washington license plates. (Weoo! We are no longer potato people.) We had park down the street from it and it was actually quite pleasant outside! So I put Kristie in the stroller and we had a nice walk on the way! I was in such a good mood. I couldn't believe how well Kristie did with this and the shot appointment because it was all during her morning naptime!

We came home, ate, vacuumed and did the dishes. (I've been putting off vacuuming for awhile so I was proud of myself for doing so.) Kristie took a long nap. YES. Then after she woke up, we were out again! I've been dying to stop by Kindercare to say hi to the people and kids I used to work with, that are still there. So we went and it was so fun! It was fun to come back there (after 3 years) with my own kid. I had so much fun chatting and seeing the kids that were still there and SOOOO grown up. Absolutely couldn't believe it. Especially seeing kids that were babies last time I was there. HOLY cow.

THEN Kristie and I went to the Mukilteo library. Aw, I love it there. In the kids section, there's a basket full of board books for babies! So great 'cause we can check out a few books, giving us a break from the books we have at home, and just keep switching them out for new ones! Love it! Gives Kristie more of a variety of books to read. Gotta keep her on her toes. =) She helped me pick out a book as well. I love going to the fiction section, and just picking out a random book that looks interesting to read. So fun.

Then, we stopped at McDonalds where I got a mini meal for myself and I had EXACT change. It was so great. Especially since I usually don't have any change. On our way home we stopped at my dad's place to pick up something we left there and then we went HOME!

We ate dinner together. I fed Kristie her squash & pears while feeding myself a McChicken sandwich & fries while we listened to Dido & KT Tunstall. (Haha, quite a contrast in our food choices.) Then we played together until it was time for her bath and bedtime.

What a day! I love my daughter. (And I can't wait for the husby to come back home!)

Here she was during our dinner. (From my cell phone so it's not so great.) =)

Lil' lady in red

Trying out the coat Auntie Kali got her for Christmas. Still a little big, but so darn cute!

Here's a video I took right after the pictures. Jason was sitting behind his lap top and Kristie was peeking around to see him! It was SO cute! That's the first time we've ever seen her do that! Just the fact that she understands that if she's peeks around she can see him...such a small thing, but so big! What a smart little silly goose. =)

What do you think?

I REALLY want my hair to grow out and be long. But I'm just not patient enough to wait. So I considered extensions. But they're massively expensive. (Even at cheaper places it's $150 and we can't afford that...) Plus they only last 3 ish months and I just don't want the hassle. So...I want to chop it off. Kate Gosselin style! (From Jon & Kate Plus 8.) I can't find any good pictures of her hair, so I found some pictures of a similar (but a little different) style...now of which I'm falling more in love with. This is Victoria Beckham's hair - hers is a little longer and less spiky than Kate's and I'm leaning more towards this direction...
(Only I'd be tucking the long pieces behind my ear like Kate does.)

Please tell me what you think!!

"It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away..."

And a beautiful one it was. Jason had the day off and it was sunny outside, so we went down to old town Mukilteo! So many memories there from growing up, it's ridiculous. We started off by visiting Katie's mom at Ivars where she gave us free food for lunch. (Can we say loveliest gal around?!) It was, of course, amazing. I could eat fish and chips every day for the rest of my life. Eating the food there is just perfect, 'cause you're on the waterfront, watching cars get ready to board the ferry, hearing the seagulls cry out - honestly, does it get much better than that?

After we finished there we broke out the front carrier and put Kristie in. We walked down one of the docks next to the ferry. Kristie's first time seeing the ocean and a ferry! We were quite excited for her. Then we walked down the lighthouse. Absolutely gorgeous as usual. Then we took a stroll down the beach. My heavens, we just can't explain how much we love it here. We really took for granted how beautiful it is in Mukilteo. Why would you want to move away from here? We talked and laughed about some of the memories we have on that beach. There are oh so many. Then we stopped at Woody's Market on the way back to the car. It's a quaint little place that has an ice cream shop inside, a fireplace, and a tv that constantly plays movies with a good sound system. I hadn't been there since it had been redone so it was fun!

Enjoy the pics from our fun day!

Visiting "Ona" (Katie's mom) working at Ivars! She took her right behind the counter! It was so cute. We ate lunch and had a good chat. Boy do I love her!

I just can't believe how much Kristie is growing up. Although she's not very mobile yet, she does other little things that just remind me that she's not a little baby anymore. For one, she anticipates things now! Like when I'm tickling her... she sees my hands coming at her again, and before I even tickle her she starts to crack up - or tucks her head into her chest, closes her eyes and squeals! It's so hilarious. She's also starting to put her hands up towards you if she sees you're going to pick her up, or leans toward who she wants to hold her. Woah! These little things seem SO big to us, it's crazy.

Great-Great Grandma LaPriel

Here's some more holiday pictures! On December 31st, we visited Great Grandma LaPriel (Great-Great to Kristie!) on her 95th birthday! She is from Jason's side of the family and is just the sweetest gal in the world. She does not seem 95 at all! And I absolutely love her sense of humor.

Here we all are! (Minus Jason who had to work.)
This was Christmas dinner! (Left to right: Dad, Ada, Bruce, Ann, Dave, Janelle, Emilie, Mitch, Me & Jason.) Feels good to sit at the adult table. =)
Opening some presents.
We always get a picture in front of the Duce's Christmas tree!
