Halloween!

Man, what a busy day! First went apartment hunting in the morning - long story to come. Then K took a nap. Then it was off to the mall to go trick or treating with our playgroup! But since Kristie was still sleeping by 2pm rolled around, we were late. So it was just the three of us, Daddy, Momma & Tinkerbell - we still had tons of fun! She was like "Uh guys, what are we doing?!" Then she started to get it and put the candy in her bag. It was SO cute! Then we went trick or treating at the church, then at Opa & Abue's, then at Grandpa & Grandma's! It was a Halloween to remember!

Ended the night munching on candy with Uncle Blake. =)

Cute little Tinkerbell

Kristie got to wear her costume to story time at the library - it was so fun! She was super, extra shy that day for some reason, so no smiles to be found in these pics. =) Hopefully on Halloween she'll be her happy self! We're going trick or treating at the mall on Saturday with our play group, so that should be pretty stinking fun. She just looks SOO cute walking around in this outfit - just kills me!

With her friend Matteo, so cute!
Made the wings from hangers and knee highs. =) Then put glitter glue polka dots and used the extra fabric from the top to wrap around the middle.

Graduated from Course 3!

Woohoo! I'm so grateful that I was able to take these courses. I learned SO much! Click here for more pictures!

Now I'm technically done with all the courses. There is an optional Fondant & Gumpaste course, but next month we'll be in Whistler during a class day. Kathy said we'd be doing really cool fondant flowers that day and that I wouldn't want to miss it. So I will skip a month and take it another time. It'll be nice to take a breather though. With class on top of cake orders, it has be BUSY around our kitchen, my heavens. Thank goodness I have Jason - he's so wonderful and supportive. I honestly don't know what I would do without him!

Tinkerbell Preview

Halloween is coming up...which means it's tutu time! Woohoo! =) This year Kristie's going to be Tinkerbell, and I have the tutu part done. This time around I tied the tulle to ribbon instead of elastic, and I LOVE how this turned out. Plus, I got the sparkliest tulle on the planet so it's pretty much the prettiest thing I've ever seen. The picture does not do the glittering frenzy justice. =) I will also be making a top, fairy wings and Tinkerbell slippers. Oh my, it will be pretty darn cute!

Somehow I need to finish this costume amongst the 4 cakes, cake class and practicing for cake class that I need to do in the next week. Oh-me-oh-my...

Course 3 Flowers

We took a break from fondant this week and did more advanced royal icing flowers. Cute!!

Case of the sillies

Today we were kinda hanging out in little K's room, and I found her gloves and hat from last year! Now last year, she couldn't fit into these gloves 'cause they were too big, so I'm so pumped for her to wear them...and she LOVES them! I thought she'd hate them, but I was wrong. She kept them on for a good half hour, still thumbing through books a playing with toys. Totally cracked me up! And she normally doesn't keep a single thing on her head nowadays, so I was shocked when she kept her hat on that whole time too! She must've known that it went with the ensemble. =)

Sunday, she found two toilet paper rolls, and somehow managed to get both of them on her arms by herself! Jason and I were laughing so hard, it was so cute! As Kali said on facebook, maybe she'd rather be a robot for x-mas?

Cute pic and winter gear

I stole this picture from Katie, who took this of Kristie the other day when we decorated cookies. SO cute! (If you click on it to enlarge, you can see her molars!)
Last week Kristie and I found some cute winter stuff at my favorite consignment shop, Mama Go Round. She is set! Well, almost - we spent so much time looking at the entire store that we didn't have time to look at the hats & gloves. And she could use some boots too. haha. Anyway, got some amazing deals on these barely used, name brand clothes! I love it...
This one's from Old Navy.
Her first puffy jacket! Aw such a big girl!! It's a little long on her 'cause she's so short, but at least there's room to grow. And my heavens the fleece inside is so thick and soft!
This is a Columbia brand snow suit! Anywhere else, this would've been a trillion dollars. =)

Pumpkin Farm & Halloween Cookies

October is such a fun month! We hit up the pumpkin farm in Snohomish for playgroup yesterday and had so much fun! Farmer JT (lol) gave us a tractor/hay ride to the pumpkin patch where Kristie picked out her pumpkin! She was all whiney because she didn't like walking in the bumpy, viney terrain. But still fun of course. We want to go back with Daddy again so he can pick one out and maybe all go through the hay maze! We can't miss out on that. =)

On the hay ride
Found a tiny white one that looked like a potato.

The little one on the left is the one she picked out. =)
Then we went over to Ona's later to make halloween cookies with her, Katie, Alex & Ryan!
Auntie Katie was making her laugh and giggle! I just missed it!
Looooved playing with this necklace.
Fun, fun day! K & I just love getting out of the house. =)

Featured on Infarrantly Creative!

This is so silly...I JUST noticed that I was featured on the lovely blog, Infarrantly Creative! (Back in August - whoopsy!) She does the neatest projects and whatnot. I used her tutorial on making a hooded towel for Kristie! Check out my little feature!!

Have you been watching the cakes?

I am so grateful for this talent. I feel so blessed to have so many supporting me and giving me chances to make cakes for them. Before, I felt like I didn't have anything extra special to offer the world - I've found something and that is a HUGE relief. Life is good.

Kristie

I swear she's changing and growing up every day...it's crazy! You think the kiddo is exciting, and then the next day they do something new! Kristie likes to pretend to talk on the phone. So cute. She'll put it up to her ear and say "Hi!" She's finally got a new word under her belt..."Uh oh!"She caught that one probably 'cause I say it so much lately...she's getting into everything all of a sudden (darn!) and "displays" things all over the apartment. Lovely. So child locks are almost done being installed. BUT with all this mess, she's learned to put things away! She'll help grab toys and put them in their baskets! It's soooo adorable, and so helpful. =) I've mentioned this already, but she points to her nose and her belly button. We're working on the rest. As of today, she's finally learned to steer!! With her walker or any toy the involves pushing around, if she runs into something and gets stuck, she could never steer it into the right direction...all of a sudden she got it! Yay! She's saying "duck" a lot lately, but I'm not sure if she knows what it means yet. haha. Also, I said this in the Whistler post, but she's becoming more independent - if we're out, she just loves to walk everywhere. She wants to explore and walk herself rather than be pushed in a cart or a stroller. On the other hand, she gets verrrry clingy. At home and out & about. Sometimes frustrating, but makes me happy 'cause it reminds me that she loves me. =) One of her new favorite games is to play on our bed. She'll run around, carefully staying away from the edges, put her hands in the air, throw herself backwards and laugh as she lands. It's sooo fun! Also...the chica is obsessed with books!! She can't get enough of them. We have to have some wherever we go. At night when we read a couple books before bed, she'll keep reaching for more while we're sitting in the rocking chair...just doesn't want me to stop reading! (Oh and she likes to pick out which books she wants to read...aw.) Also LOVES to give us kisses! She'll close her eyes, lean in and pucker her lips. Sometimes even include an "mmm ma!" Oh it just melts my heart. Simply amazing...every single little stage is so much fun! I looooove this little girl!!!

Pushing a "Customer In Training" cart at Trader Joes. Man this was so cute I almost cried. And everyone in the store kept giggling and smiling at her.
Playing in a house at a cute little consignment shop that just opened up nearby.
We think she'd be cute in the driver seat of this car. =)
Us on the way home from Whistler. I found a comfy spot on her car seat and she apparently fell asleep just after me.
"Oooh, pretty car!" Man, this even has a working radio and speakers! Hilarious.

Whistler Trip!

Oh my goodness, what an amazing four days. My dad has a timeshare here so we go every other year. I just love it there. I couldn't go last time 'cause we were living in Rexburg, so it's been 4 years so I've been! And that was a month before Jason and I got married. So this time, I came back with a husband and a kid. =) There are just SO many memories there, so it was weird not having Dallin & Devin there too. But Dad, Ada, Jason & Kristie and I had an amazing time. This year we split it so we could go up in the Fall & Winter. Once this last week for 3 nights, and once more next month when it'll be covered in snow for 4 nights. Can't wait to get back there!!

These are just a few of my favorites - there are TOO many good ones to post, so go here for the rest!  Whistler 2009

This was our first time in the Fall, it was just breathtaking!!

Rainbow Lake - the most beautiful park I've ever been to!
