Family Events

DEVIN & LESLIE ARE MARRIED! I realized I never wrote about it, and it's definitely important. It's a long story, but they had a small wedding in Georgia (where Leslie is from and they now live) in June. Dad, Ada, Dustin & Camilla were able to make it. Then, Leslie was baptised right after! We are all so happy for her. They are going to have a big wedding and be sealed in the Temple next year. Congratulations you two!!!

"Diagnosis: Well Baby"

Kristie is two months old today!! Holy cow. Her appointment went really well. She is 13 pounds and 22 3/4 inches long. Holy cow again. She is absolutely perfect in every way. The doctor told us that the diagnosis is that she is a well baby. It was so cute to see her interact with the doctor. Right when he started to check her, she grabbed his stethescope and wouldn't let go! And she was babbling back to him when he was talking to her. It was absolutely adorable. I kept thinking..."Aw, that's my daughter." The hardest part of the appointment was the immunizations. Ahhh! She first had an oral one, which must've tasted disgusting. But she muscled it down. Then she had three shots, all at once. Oh my heavens - I've never seen her cry like that. And I don't blame her. I can hardly stand one shot alone. I cried after the nurses left the room. If Jason wasn't there I probably would've sat there for another half an hour crying with her. It was SO hard to watch that. In the picture below you can see the bandaids on her legs. Two on one, one on the other. Awwww my poor Kristie cakes.

Tooele Demo Derby

Saturday night while we were in Utah, we all went to a demolition derby in Tooele. Can you believe Kristie's been to two demoltion derbies since she's been born? Oh my. =)

Utah Weekend

Last weekend we headed to Utah for Grandma Frank's funeral. All went well and everything was beautiful. I think the most touching part of the service was Grandpa's medley of hymns on his harmonica. The way he played was absolutely sweet and heartfelt. And the songs he picked...just brought me to tears. I think the last song he played was "God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again." I can't even describe the way his face looked as he was looking at all of us while he played. Almost as if he was saying to us "Everything's going to be ok." And it made me cry also realizing that this was probably the first time he was playing without his sweet Ruth by his side. Darrin's number on the violin was also wonderful. He played "Ave Maria." I missed his violin playing so much while he was on his mission. Overall, it was nice to see all the family and see Grandma one last time. Kristie did an amazing job on her first trip as well. It reassured me that she'll probably do fine when we going on the camping trip with J's family next week. She actually slept better than she's ever slept, which was a pleasant surprise!

My Aunt Genet (Mom's sister) meeting Kristie for the first time! It was so great to see her! (Kristie was pretty uncomfortable...it was super hot outside.)

The Ultimate Wrap

I've been borrowing this wrap from Amy Hall and it is faaabulous!! We finally got a picture with me using it last week when we went mini golfing in Rigby. This is what I use when we see movies, go to Restaurants, sometimes on walks, around the house when I do chores , and pretty much anywhere I want to have my hands free. It's wonderful! Thanks Amy!!

Farewell Grandma Frank

Grandma passed away at 4 this morning. She's been sick for a long time, but was given just days to live a couple weeks ago when she had another stroke. It still hasn't really sunk in that she's gone yet. So for now, I'm thinking about all the wonderful memories I have of her. She was such an amazing woman. One of the neat things about her was her memory! Man alive she could remember everything. Whenever we visited her she'd tell story after story. Even stories about me that I don't remember. One of the last ones she told me about was how I liked to take naps with her on a blanket in our backyard in California. My favorite stories though, were the ones about when she and Grandpa were dating and what it was like growing up in Hamburg, Germany. The two of them were so in love and it always showed. It makes me happy to know that she is with her Heavenly Father right now and with all our relatives who have passed on. I know she's already given my mom a hug and a kiss for all of us and is telling her many stories to everyone about her time here on earth. I love you Grandma, you will be missed.

Adventures In Blow-Outs

Kristie had a blow-out today. Instead of being annoyed, I laughed my head off. Here's what happened...

Kristie was doing some tummy time on her little play mat. After awhile she got a little fussy. So I turned her over and was confused because my hand got wet . To my surprise, her stomach was covered in runny poo. I said "Oh no, Kristie!! What happened?" Instead of crying like she normally would if she was really poopy, she started smiling like crazy! It was hilarious! I can't even begin to describe how cute it was. It was almost like she was saying "Haha Mommy, look what I was hiding!" It made me laugh so hard. So I gave her a bath and she continued to be in a crazy happy mood! She kept "talking" and smiling at me as I dried her in the towel and changed her. What a fun afternoon. =)

(Yuck huh?!) What a silly goose.

More than happy to take a bath!

All smiles in her towel. =)

Here she is making happy sounds while I was drying her off. What a cutie!!

Blessing Day

Today Kristie recieved her baby blessing at church. It was absolutely wonderful. Dad, Ada, Dustin, Darrin & Dallin were all able to make it out here for it, which was soooo great of them! They came into town yesterday so we've been able to spend some time with them. This was Darrin and Dallin's first time meeting Kristie and our first time seeing Darrin since he got back from his mission in Hawaii this month! So it was a good time, for sure! The blessing went beautifully. I can't ask for a better husband and a better daughter. And I'm so grateful to have the gospel in our lives.

Yesterday before the family came.

Meeting Uncle Dallin for the first time!

All smiles for Uncle Darrin! (She was for everyone!! It was absolutely adorable!)
