Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband Concert

Last night Jason & I left Kristie with babysitters for the first time (Hebers...thanks again!) and went to the Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband concert at BYU-I. Aside from me worrying about Kristie the entire time, we had such a blast! These guys performed at the big Melaleuca Christmas party last year so I had seen them once before but it was a first for Jason. They are so entertaining and so talented! They play like 20 different string instruments and 20 different types of music (that's an exaggerated number) so it's really a good variety of stuff. There's this one part where the 4 of them are standing next to eachother holding their instruments...then they each put their hand on the instrument next to them and do the fingering for the other person and all play at the same time! Kinda hard to explain, but it was awesome. Then the drummer runs up and starts busting up on the violin out of nowhere! Or when the banjo player does a kermit the frog impression, and later does an Aaron Neville impression...hilarious. And yes, they even have a song about corn dogs. They get the entire audience singing along with them and it's pretty much the funniest thing ever. All in all, they were amazing. (I'm almost a hundred percent sure that they're LDS too!) Anyway, I haven't clapped so hard and screamed so loud in a long time!
Click on this link to watch a video of them doing clips from their concert! http://www.shupe.net/videos.php When you get here, scroll down and click on "Promo Video". It shows them doing the cool instrument sharing thing, the Kermit and Aaron Neville impression and even the corn dog song!
During one of the songs he randomly got us all to sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" so he could video it and put it on YouTube. And he did! Check it out! Jason and I are in there, somewhere in the back. =)

(And apparently Kristie did really well while we were gone!!! Hooray!)

I am glad you guys got to go out and have some fun. I cant even imagine how scary it would be as a parent to leave your child for the first time. That is not going to be very fun. I am glad that she did good with the babysitter. She is so stinkn' adorable!

hey! I didn't even know you guys were still in town.... OR that you'd had a baby (not to mention were even pregnant!)

Your little girl is sooooooooo cute! Isn't it the best when they're making such progress so quickly and you just sit there and have to take it all in? That was my favorite part with Gracie.... she learned so quick and I had to just sit back and think, "Wow, how did you learn that?" It's so much fun!

I hope Trystan comes out soon too, I'm really starting to think that they just like to be close to mom... hahahaha! Gracie was 9 days late and so far, I don't know that Trystan is going to be any less stubborn. LOL!
