Bows, kisses & mommy shoes

I made little mini versions of her bows to wear in her pigtails. =)

Kristie loves giving her Aunt & Uncle kisses.

And she steals my shoes to walk around in. SO cute.

St. Patrick's Day

The day started off with green piggy tails! I couldn't get over how cute they looked, so of course, we took a zillion pictures. Then we met up with Laura at Edmonds beach so we could walk around downtown. Dev & Les came as well! We walked up to the Edmonds Bakery and had pastries there. I honestly wish I could eat pastries at a bakery every single day of my life. Then we walked around the old town part which was super cute. Then hit up the Nama's Candy shop and bought a bunch of .15 cent flavored candy sticks. Yum. Then we went back to my place and had Spongebob mac n' cheese (simply DEE-lish) and mini apple pies that Laura made!

The cute Edmonds Bakery - all four walls were covered with cookie jars!! (I love the Cat in the Hat one!
All of us, wearing our green!

Kristie would so much rather push the stroller than be pushed. =)
And we passed by a dog sitting in the driver's seat of a car. Hilarious!
(Stole this pic from Laura, thanks!)

Tale of a wedding cake...

A high school friend, Amy, asked me to make her wedding cake last year, and it was finally last weekend! It was a week affair really. I started the mini fondant roses on Monday. Tuesday or Wednesday I ran a million errands to get supplies for the cake. Wednesday I did all the baking - and it was a lot of baking. Thursday I filled, crumb coated and covered the tiers in fondant. This was the day I was dreading - I was so afraid of making enough fondant to cover the 14 inch tier. That's the biggest I've done so far. But it worked out! Friday I did all the decorating. Made more fondant for the navy blue "ribbon" and polka dots and all the finishing touches. Thank goodness Dev & Leslie came over to keep Kristie busy or I would've lost my mind! (p.s...this was the inspiration that Amy found - http://www.annatylercakes.co.uk/about.htm.)

The mini roses.
Covered in fondant and ready to go.
Dev took the camera and took some shots!

All stacked at the reception.

Stefanie, Cara and I at the reception. We went to high school together - it was fun catching up!
Leslie came with me!

New Calling

Sunday before last I was sustained as the 1st counselor in the Primary presidency! Woah! Definitely the biggest one for me yet, so I have my work cut out for me. =) I'm not going to lie, I was hoping to not get a calling in Primary, but after just one Sunday in there, I already love it! As 1st counselor I oversee some of the primary teachers and all of Cub Scouts. So I'll need to go the the weekly den meetings, monthly pack meetings, committee meetings and roundtable meetings. Then I have to go to ward council meetings every Sunday morning before before church. And then there's presidency meetings. Phew! Also, as a presidency, we'll switch off on duties during primary on Sundays. So one month I'll be doing sharing time, one month I'll be greeting & roving and one month I'll be conducting. How busy, and how fun! I have a LOT of names to learn and a lot of getting used to in Cub Scouts - that's definitely not my area of expertise. =) Wish me luck!

p.s...the President, 2nd counselor and secretary are the GREATEST. We are going to have a lot of fun together. It was hilarious 'cause after our first day in primary on sunday, Dot (the president) looked at me and said "We need another meeting." And we laughed. We have a lot to figure out! =)

I love this girl.
